Program Overview

In the Honors Specialization in Art History and Museum Studies and the Major in Art History, students study art and visual culture in its social and political context. Our program focuses on global networks of cultural exchange and is committed to interdisciplinary approaches informed by critical theory. This field of study develops cross-cultural understanding and a global perspective on the art and visual culture of the past and present. The lectures and seminars taught by our outstanding faculty are complemented by field trips to museums, heritage sites, and other cultural institutions and by a lively series of art exhibitions and guest speakers on campus and in the London region.
