We offer a range of courses in French Canadian literature, cinema, and culture, with an emphasis on Acadian and Qu b cois writers, as well as other Francophone literatures (i.e. France, Belgium, etc.). The linguistics courses explore the various expressions across French Canada. We also emphasize the phenomenon of human communication and how language shapes experience. Learning the French language provides a wealth of opportunities for your future career and ignites a passion for culture, creativity, and expression. The Department of French welcomes students who wish to learn and perfect the language as well as pursue their studies in literature and linguistics.
