Some of life s most pressing issues concern gender. Women s and gender studies will allow you to examine significant differences in the experiences of others in Canadian society and around the world.The Women s and Gender Studies WGS program at Acadia emphasizes the importance of gender as a category of critical analysis in areas such as scholarly activity, education, social relationships, cultural expression, and politics. Women s and Gender Studies is offered as a major and honours in the Faculty of Arts, and students from all faculties can minor in WGS or pursue it as a second major. There are four core courses, with the rest of the program chosen from cross-listed courses offered in all three faculties on a rotational basis.
