The Dental Hygiene program prepares you to become a dental hygienist committed to advancing oral health and community service. Dental Hygiene is a health profession involving theory and evidence-based practice that draw on biomedical, social, and behavioural sciences, as well as the body of dental hygiene knowledge. Dental hygienists are responsible for health promotion, education, clinical therapy, research, and administration. The practice of dental hygiene involves collaboration with clients, dentists, dental assistants, other health professionals, and society.
Final grade of 70% in Grade 11 or Grade 12 English (or equivalent course, including provincial examinations where applicable), Graduation from high school with a minimum average of 70%, UAE Secondary School Leaving Certificate (Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-Amma). Certificates must be official, Grades required for admission will vary by program, but based on the UAE grading scale, the minimum average needed to fall within the competitive range is approximately 84% on a 60% pass-scale, Test scores: IELTS of 6.5, with no part less than 6.0, TOEFL iBT of 90.
