BHSc in Midwifery

4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Ryerson University

Program Overview

Pregnancy, birth and early parenting are often profound and transformative experiences. While highly personal, pregnancy, birth and parenting are also influenced by social context. Midwives, as registered health professionals, are trained to provide exemplary, low-risk, primary care throughout the reproductive cycle, from conception to six weeks post-partum, and to be attentive to the personal, the social, and the systemic. The Ryerson MEP and the profession of midwifery are committed to clinical excellence and service, and to working equitably with individuals and families in all their diversities. Graduates of the Ryerson Midwifery Education Program play important roles in Canada's maternity care and health care more broadly.
