Program Overview

Science is everywhere. A general science degree will build your foundation in science, mathematics and technology so you can better understand the field and prepare for your future.Choose from a range of courses to attain a general science education. Complete two of the following six concentrations to earn your degree:Biology:Learn about the science of life in one of three areas: anatomy and physiology, cellular and molecular biology, or ecology and evolution.Chemistry:Get a mix of classroom and practical laboratory instruction with a focus on organic chemistry, biochemistry or the study of molecular structures.Geography:Take courses in either physical geography and conservation, or mapping and geographic information systems (GIS).Geology:Explore different aspects of geology through courses in physical geology, paleontology, hydrogeology and others.Mathematics:Build the tools you will need to understand the mathematical basis of all sciences. Take courses in algebra, calculus, modelling and statistics.Physics:Study mechanics, waves and optics, and quantum mechanics.

Admission is competitive.Applicants must meet both the competitive admission average for the specific program and present specific required courses with the minimum required grades. In addition to meeting general admission requirements, admission to the Bachelor of Science requires the following specific high school courses (or equivalents).Applicants in all admission categories must present:Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, General Science and Geology:English Language Arts 30-1 - minimum grade 60%, Mathematics 30 - 1 - minimum grade 60%, Chemistry 30 - minimum grade 60%
