Honors Specialization In Biochemistry Of Infection And Immunity

4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Western University

Program Overview

This module integrates the study of the related fields of biochemistry, microbiology, and immunology to give students an understanding of the molecular mechanisms by which microorganisms attack human host cells, and by which the human host responds. This module leads to an Honors Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMSc) degree. There are programmes to study infectious diseases of humans, animals and plants, many of which disproportionately affect the developing world. A wide range of research involving viruses, bacteria, parasites and other pathogens is complemented by work in immunology of relevance to non-infectious disease and non disease states.
