Program Overview

The BA Major in Classical, Near Eastern, and Religious Studies coordinates several study areas that were formerly offered as distinct majors. The flexible new program benefits from the Department s faculty expertise in archaeology, history, languages, literatures, and religions of ancient Egypt, the Near East, Greece and Rome, including Judaism, Christianity, and early Islam. Interdisciplinary study is encouraged, and the program can be tailored to fit specific interests in preparation for future study and employment opportunities.

Additional Information & Requirements

Final grade of 70% in Grade 11 or Grade 12 English (or equivalent course, including provincial examinations where applicable), Graduation from high school with a minimum average of 70%, UAE Secondary School Leaving Certificate (Shahadat Al-Thanawiya Al-Amma). Certificates must be official, Grades required for admission will vary by program, but based on the UAE grading scale, the minimum average needed to fall within the competitive range is approximately 84% on a 60% pass-scale, Test scores: IELTS of 6.5, with no part less than 6.0, TOEFL iBT of 90.
