Based on the academic study and critical analysis of the history of the classical world reached in the 19th century, classical Philology currently draws on the most relevant currents dating back to Greek, Roman and Indian antiquity, namely humanism , rhetoric, grammar, poetics, hermeneutics, textual criticism, the study of etymologies and the classical tradition Based on them, a cultural and historical approach to their languages, their literatures, and their mythologies is made, as well as their synchronous and diachronic development, complemented by new approaches to the analysis of disciplines auxiliary to Classical Philology
