Bachelors in Theater studies major

The world is changing and the theater with it. In the Theater Studies program, we focus on the history and present of one of the oldest and most influential cultural forms. For us, the theater is an open field of research: a unique art as well as a general model of culture. The core of the study are theoretically, methodologically and historically oriented subjects representing the interrelationships of world, European and Czech theater and performative culture, their transformations and current trends. In subjects focused on field research, students will learn the methods of participant observation, recording and archiving of cultural performances. The course includes the basics of cultural journalism and work with theater sources and audiovisual documentation of the theater.
