Graduates of bachelor study of comparative linguistics possess solid philological and linguistically historical knowledge of selected old Indo-European / Semitic language and are well versed in other major document languages as well as in the development of the whole language family. They are able to work with texts and literature, to analyze material etymologically, to formulate and verify their own hypotheses in the broader theoretical framework of theories of linguistic change and historical linguistics. It is equipped with knowledge of contemporary linguistic approaches to language change, state-of-the-art reconstruction of prajazyka, ie questions of documents, cultural significance of texts, written systems and other aspects of sociolinguistic character.
A completed secondary education before entering the first year of a Bachelor s , a notarised copy of your secondary school leaving certificate or your Bachelor s diploma, an official transcript of records from your previous university studies, an official translation of the two above into Czech (translation is not required if the original documents were issued in English), a certificate of equivalence from Czech educational authorities which states that your certificate/diploma is recognised in the Czech Republic (called nostrification ), if you completed your previous education abroad, TOEFL ibT of 80, IELTS of 6.5, SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 550, ACT English and Reading 24, IB English 6, Melab 77, TOEIC 605
