Full-time bachelor's study of English with a focus on community interpreting and translation represents a comprehensive type of higher education at the bachelor's level and can also serve as a precursor to a subsequent master's degree. The three-year study program systematically develops practical language skills, provides deeper knowledge of the structure of the contemporary English language in all its levels compared to Czech, introduces students to the theory of translation and interpretation and provides the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge and skills associated with the profession of translator and interpreter. In practical language, graduates are expected to reach level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. A fixed part of the studies are systematically diversified optional seminars, in which students deepen their basic knowledge in the field according to their individual choice. During the study, interactive teaching methods are applied and students are guided to work independently. A single-field study enables deepening of knowledge in a narrower specialization, including philological disciplines.
