Program Overview

General Linguistics and Theory of Communication is an interdisciplinary study focused on both theoretical questions of linguistics and their practical application in text analyses. It focuses on language and communication in general, not on one specific language or philology. For that reason, it is a very suitable companion in a double combination for students who want to deepen their knowledge of the structure and functioning of the language. This knowledge can then be used in the second, philological, program. A combination with a philological program (English studies, Asian studies, Bohemian studies, German studies, classical philology, Dutch studies, Roman studies, Slavic studies, etc.) will enable students to better understand the basic theoretical concepts on which the descriptions of specific languages. The program can be combined with all programs in the FF, PDF, CMTF and P F menu.
