Program Overview

Korean Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts of Charles University is a specialization in the study program Asian Studies, which focuses on both theoretical and practical studies of language, literature and history with a complementary offer of teaching in the field of culture, especially spiritual. Undergraduate level graduates are expected to master intermediate and spoken Korean, critical work with written resources, and a comprehensive cultural-historical overview of the area. The acquired knowledge and skills should enable the continuation of the follow-up master's study at Czech or foreign universities as well as application in practice (cultural and educational institutions, state authorities, private companies, tourism, etc.)

A completed secondary education before entering the first year of a Bachelor s , a notarised copy of your secondary school leaving certificate or your Bachelor s diploma, an official transcript of records from your previous university studies, an official translation of the two above into Czech (translation is not required if the original documents were issued in English), a certificate of equivalence from Czech educational authorities which states that your certificate/diploma is recognised in the Czech Republic (called nostrification ), if you completed your previous education abroad, TOEFL ibT of 80, IELTS of 6.5, SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 550, ACT English and Reading 24, IB English 6, Melab 77, TOEIC 605
