Program Overview

Graduates of the bachelor's degree, after completing both specialized and practically oriented seminars, master the Czech language in oral and written form in all standard and professionally demanding communication situations at the level corresponding to the minimum candidate at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. They will learn to apply critical thinking in the philological sphere. They will be able to use expert knowledge to analyze texts of various functional styles and to analyze literary works. They will master work with philological tools and aids in printed and electronic form (textbooks, grammar, dictionaries, corpora and other electronic databases), both for learning and research needs.

Additional Information & Requirements

A completed secondary education before entering the first year of a Bachelor s , a notarised copy of your secondary school leaving certificate or your Bachelor s diploma, an official transcript of records from your previous university studies, an official translation of the two above into Czech (translation is not required if the original documents were issued in English), a certificate of equivalence from Czech educational authorities which states that your certificate/diploma is recognised in the Czech Republic (called nostrification ), if you completed your previous education abroad, TOEFL ibT of 80, IELTS of 6.5, SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 550, ACT English and Reading 24, IB English 6, Melab 77, TOEIC 605
