Program Overview

The study of Polish philology is intended for high school graduates with a high school diploma. The study is focused on theoretical linguistic and literary subjects and on practical language teaching with the contribution of Polish lecturers and foreign internships as part of the offered student mobility. In the linguistic field, the study is devoted to mastering the synchronous state of the Polish language. The study of the Polish language is integrated into the wider context of learning about Slavic languages and realities. In the second and third year of study, the teaching of translation courses begins with the aim of expanding the student's language knowledge and skills with this technique. In the field of literary studies, the content of the study is an overview of Polish culture. The study can be supplemented by choosing from optional subjects, in the framework of which the student acquires a basic knowledge of another Slavic language (Ukrainian, Russian).
