Program Overview

The three-year Czech language and literature bachelor's study program with a focus on education enables the student to acquire specialist knowledge of the Czech language and literature. In this program, the student takes the first step towards obtaining a later teaching qualification (the second is a follow-up master's degree). Linguistics and literary studies are therefore focused on acquiring such knowledge and skills as relate to the relationship between the field of Czech language and literature and the current practice of teaching at the 2nd level of elementary school. The research areas are equally focused on the linguistic (basics of bohemian studies, the sound side of the Czech language, Czech vocabulary, Czech vocabulary, development of the Czech language, communication and style education), literary (literary theory, Czech literature, literature for children and youth, world literature) and educational (language and literature in teaching practice).
