Program Overview

"The ""Radiological Assistance"" study program is a bachelor's study program that is used for the undergraduate training of a non-medical health worker who, within the scope of his competences, can work with sources of ionizing radiation used in medicine. The focus of the radiological assistant's work is working with radiological technology and providing nursing care during the application of diagnostic and therapeutic methods. The radiological assistant can also, in accordance with the granted competences, apply medicinal products based on the doctor's indication. In the field of radiodiagnostics, based on medical indication, it performs a whole range of imaging methods, which mainly include skiagraphic imaging methods, intraoperative fluoroscopy, bone densitometry, computed tomography, assistance and instrumentation in interventional radiology procedures. In the field of nuclear medicine, he independently operates instrumentation that detects and records the distribution of radioactivity in monitored organs during scintigraphic examinations using the SPECT method and positron emission tomography (PET method) examinations."
