Program Overview

The aim of the study program Financial Mathematics is to introduce students to the fundamentals of finance, insurance and mathematics and prepare them for study in the follow-up Master's degree program Financial and Insurance Mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University and to work in financial institutions (banks, insurance companies, investment and pension funds) and in government. The bachelor in financial mathematics knows basic fields of mathematics (algebra, calculus, probability and statistics, optimization) and applications of mathematical methods to insurance and finance.

Additional Information & Requirements

A completed secondary education before entering the first year of a Bachelor s , a notarised copy of your secondary school leaving certificate or your Bachelor s diploma, an official transcript of records from your previous university studies, an official translation of the two above into Czech (translation is not required if the original documents were issued in English), a certificate of equivalence from Czech educational authorities which states that your certificate/diploma is recognised in the Czech Republic (called nostrification ), if you completed your previous education abroad, TOEFL ibT of 80, IELTS of 6.5, SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 550, ACT English and Reading 24, IB English 6, Melab 77, TOEIC 605
