Program Overview

The aim of the bachelor study program Religionistics (the program is without specialization) is to provide basic knowledge in the field of religious studies as a field of science. The graduate is equipped with knowledge of the methodology of the field and, thanks to the knowledge of problem areas solved in the past, knows the basics of its history. They will be able to look at religions in the context of other scientific disciplines and use their methodological procedures in their own research to a reasonable extent and depth. Thanks to at least three lectures on each of the three monotheistic religions he is well versed in the so-called Abrahamic tradition. At the same time, he is equipped to understand the situation of religion in contemporary postmodern society.

A completed secondary education before entering the first year of a Bachelor s , a notarised copy of your secondary school leaving certificate or your Bachelor s diploma, an official transcript of records from your previous university studies, an official translation of the two above into Czech (translation is not required if the original documents were issued in English), a certificate of equivalence from Czech educational authorities which states that your certificate/diploma is recognised in the Czech Republic (called nostrification ), if you completed your previous education abroad, TOEFL ibT of 80, IELTS of 6.5, SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 550, ACT English and Reading 24, IB English 6, Melab 77, TOEIC 605
