Bachelors in Archiving

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Palacky University

Program Overview

The Archiving study program prepares students to work with a wide range of written sources - the study program does not focus only on official documents, but also on narrative sources, ego-documents, inscriptions or less common sources fixed on paper - manuscripts, old prints, sheet music, graphics and other art works. Students are guided to learn to research, interpret, describe, organize, catalog and make these historical sources available to the professional and lay public. That is why the bachelor's degree includes not only basic courses in all auxiliary sciences of history and archival science, but also cataloging of various types of material (archives, old prints, sheet music, graphics and other works of art). Emphasis is thus also placed on the practical experience of the students - practice in archives is part of the study
