Program Overview

The Indonesian Studies study program offers modern and flexible study that combines the teaching of the Indonesian language, Asian/Indonesian realities (with a focus on the social, political and cultural realities of the region), as well as theoretical skills in basic social science disciplines. The study of contemporary Asia conceived in this way is the standard in the world within the tradition of so-called Area studies. With regard to the philological base of the field, the offer of compulsory-elective subjects is aimed at deepening the philological knowledge of students who are properly educated in Indonesian philology, related historiography and social sciences related to Indonesian society in general.
