The initial focus of the BSc programme in medicine is the healthy human being. You then go on to learn about the diseases that can affect the human body and how to treat them. Once you have learned the basic theory, you must apply your knowledge both in the classroom and in clinical training. Teaching consists of a combination of lectures, group instruction and clinical training. At the beginning of your studies, you have to get through a lot of theory, and it is important to have a good study mate. Medicine is a rapidly evolving field of study. New diseases and treatments are continually being discovered so you must be ready to undergo further education and training throughout your medical career.
