Program Overview

Scandinavian studies course, Students will acquire a good knowledge of Scandinavian and Nordic civilizations, literatures and languages from the Scandinavian Middle Ages to contemporary times, as well as scientific tools for their analysis and understanding. Students choose a specialty language of which they will acquire an advanced Level in oral and written practice. Language teaching begins at the beginner Level. Passive knowledge of the other two modern Scandinavian languages is expected at the end of the studies. In addition to modern Scandinavian languages, Students will learn Old Norse - the language of medieval Nordic sources, who tell us about so-called Viking societies, their myths and poems.
