In the Guardian League Table 2020, the university achieved an impressive 13th position among all UK universities, and it secured the 7th rank in the 2021 Guardian League Tables for Business, Management & Marketing.

Foundation (International Route):

Minimum age requirement: 17 years old (titles awarded upon completion of at least 11 years of schooling).

Academic Qualifications: Equivalent of GCSE as per ECCTIS UK standards.

English Language Requirements:

  • Official English Tests:

    • IELTS minimum overall score of 5.0 (minimum 4.5 in each component).
    • Password test minimum overall score of 5.0 (minimum 4.5 in each component).
    • PTE (Academic) minimum overall score of 46 (minimum 41 in each component).
    • LanguageCert International ESOL SELT B1 Achiever High Pass.
    • Duolingo test with an overall score of 95+.
  • Other Qualifications Accepted:

    • West African Certificates (WAEC AND NECO only) as a stand-alone with a minimum of C6 in English, issued within the last 5 years.
    • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) accepted with an overall grade C or above.
    • For Tanzania and Cameroon, an IELTS (or equivalent certificate) is required.
    • WAEC/NECO certificates issued more than 5 years ago must be enhanced by a successful (50%+) Internal English Assessment.
  • English Test Waiver Conditions:

    • Applicants with an ECCTIS UK recognized High-School Certificate achieved within the last 2 years, with English as the medium of instruction for both teaching and assessment, can submit a Medium of Instruction Letter.
    • Medium of instruction letter is also accepted for applicants who graduated within the last 5 years, supported by a Duolingo test.
    • Canadian nationals who completed studies at an English-speaking School/College/University are exempt from the English test.

BSc (Hons):

Minimum age requirement: 18 years old (titles awarded upon completion of at least 12 years of schooling).

Academic Qualifications: A school leaving certificate that allows pursuit of higher education in Germany (e.g., Abitur, Fachhochschulreife, Matura, or International Baccalaureate), international school leaving certificates, BTEC/National Diploma, or Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education. Applicants without meeting the above academic requirements may be considered on an individual basis if they possess professional qualifications and/or have 4 or more years of full-time work experience.

English Language Requirements:

  • Official English Tests:

    • IELTS minimum overall score of 6.0 (minimum 5.5 in each component).
    • Password test minimum overall score of 6.0 (minimum 5.5 in each component).
    • PTE (Academic) minimum overall score of 56 (minimum 51 in each component).
    • TOEFL IBT minimum overall score of 80 (Listening 17, Reading 18, Speaking 20, Writing 17).
    • Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) or Cambridge English Proficiency minimum overall score of 69 (minimum 162 in each component).
    • LanguageCert International ESOL SELT B2 Communicator High Pass (minimum 33 in each component).
    • Duolingo test with an overall score of 105.
  • English Test Waiver Conditions:

    • Applicants with an ECCTIS UK recognized High-School Certificate achieved within the last 2 years, with English as the medium of instruction for both teaching and assessment, can submit a Medium of Instruction Letter.
