As a sub-discipline of classical philology, Latin covers the entire breadth of written output in the Latin language. Research and teaching focus on Roman literature from the start of the written tradition until the end of late antiquity in around the 6th century. The course also looks at the continuing impact of Roman literature in the mediaeval, Renaissance and early modern periods.
