Program Overview

Studying Greekis intended to enable students to understand the language and literature of the Greeks in connection with ancient culture and to survey the development of Greek language and literature in ancient times. The primary goal is to adequately grasp and interpret the content, function and form of ancient literary works in Greek. The course is intended to impart content and methodological knowledge, open up interpretative access to linguistic and literary special areas and enable the students to independently deal with scientific problems and to prepare scientific homework. At the same time, it should enable the students to develop criteria for the selection of the material in school practice and to get to know methods for teaching it.
