BA Spanish Studies in the Interdisciplinary

4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Leibniz University of Hannover

Program Overview

The Interdisciplinary Bachelor's Degree Programme is ideal for prospective students who have not yet decided on a specific career, as a wide variety of careers are open to them following graduation. Alternatively, after completing this degree programmes, graduates may embark on a Master's Teacher Training Course for Grammar Schools or a subject-specific Master's degree programme (in Hannover, e.g. Atlantic Studies). The Interdisciplinary Bachelor's Degree Programme comprises two subjects (major and minor subjects) and the professional skills development area involving important interdisciplinary skills. At the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures, students take seminars on literary studies and cultural sciences, linguistics, teaching methodology (how to deal with school-based teaching and learning situations) as well as language practice (Spanish lessons). Students also have the opportunity to study abroad in a Spanish-speaking country via the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures. The professional skills development area, on the other hand, is also held at other institutes. This area is divided into two parts: Educational Science (Education and Psychology) and Key Transferable Skills, such as courses on IT and multimedia, PR work, social skills for teachers, violence prevention or on the use of the voice at school.
