The aim of the course is to impart fundamental specialist knowledge of the methods and work techniques used for the critical analysis of sources and research texts. In doing so, the competence is acquired to present scientific findings in an appropriate and linguistic manner. In addition, job-related additional qualifications and job-oriented elements are offered during the course. The content and goals of the course are conveyed through lectures, seminars and exercises. Internships give the students an insight into future professional fields, excursions deepen already acquired specialist knowledge by dealing with traditions and remnants of human cultural evidence.

The course prepares students for a wide range of professions in science, business, administration and society. It provides key qualifications for a variety of professions in archiving, library and publishing, in media and documentation, museums, in public and cultural work, adult and further education, in state and private institutions, associations and national and international organizations.
