The goal of the major field program in Early Modern and Modern History is to provide an overview of the historical periods from classical antiquity to the Middle Ages and profound knowledge of the modern period (starting in 1500), the ability to take a critical stance on the past and its interpretations and portrayals, insight into how history has shaped the development and conditions of contemporary society, an in-depth understanding for the otherness of past and foreign living environments through the study of the diachronic development of various cultures, and the ability to engage in networked thinking.
Should provide evidence that they possess the necessary qualification for higher education entrance Abitur, ECTS points:180, Direct general higher education entrance qualification:secondary school leaving certificate is equivalent to the German Abitur,Direct field-restricted higher education entrance qualification: secondary school leaving certificate that is restricted to specific fields of study or vocational areas may only select fields of study from those areas, Language skill:DSH with a proficiency level of DSH 2 or 3, TestDaF with a proficiency level of 4 or 5 (TDN 4 or 5) on all four parts, Goethe Certificate C2, Deutsches Sprachdiplom, telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule, German Abitur or German as a native language, at least taken a language course at level C1 of the Common European Framework: a passing grade in a C1-level language course, participation in a C1-level language course, evidence of proficiency level DSH 1, TestDaF at proficiency level 3 (TDN 3), Goethe Certificate C1.
