Program Overview

In the BA History you will learn all the basics and techniques of historical work in order to deal with questions of change in society, culture, politics and economy in a critical, independent and innovative way. In all epochs from antiquity to the 21st century, you will acquire knowledge about the basic structures and core processes. You will get to know the most important source corpora from original material culture to digitally available collections and how to develop, analyze and interpret them. Spatially you move from micro-historical contexts of everyday life to global aspects of imperial history and international relations. For the conclusion you develop your own small research project in an epoch of your choice.
