Program Overview

The bachelor's degree program in biology consists of modularized courses, which are usually carried out in blocks of four to six weeks.In the first two years compulsory basic modules in the fields of botany, plant physiology, zoology, animal physiology, cell biology, microbiology, genetics, chemistry including biochemistry, physics, mathematics and ethics have to be completed. In parallel, undergraduate students are accompanied by teachers in a mentoring program. The first two years of the bachelor program are designed uniformly for all students of a study year.

Additional Information & Requirements

Applicant should have average grade of higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), vocational training, work experience, special education or extracurricular achievements and qualifications (eg prizes, awards) related to biology stand. For these additional qualifications, a bonus on the final grade of up to 0.5 credit points can be awarded, Good command of spoken and written English is required. Individual courses are conducted in English. Literature for further studies is in English only, Letter of motivation, CV in tabular format in English or German, Certificate equivalent to the German Abitur certificate (i.e. A-level certificate) qualifying for university admission
