The University of Tubingen or the Eberhard Karls University of Tubingen is based in Germany in the city Tubingen, Baden-Wurttemberg. It's one of the oldest universities in the country and famous for medicine, natural sciences and humanities. It is continuously ranked as one of the best universities in the country and is known for the study of medicine, law & theology.

The University of Tübingen is not a campus university, but is spread throughout the town: Tübingen is one of five classical "university towns" in Germany. The other four are Marburg, Göttingen, Freiburg and Heidelberg.  

The University Library of Tübingen provides more than three million individual volumes and more than 7,600 journals. Apart from the main library, more than 80 departmental libraries containing an additional three million volumes are also associated with the university.
