Program Overview

The aim of the course is to understand Arabic-Islamic history and Arabic written culture in context and to work with original sources. The main focus of the course is therefore on language acquisition. Arabic and Islamic Studies students acquire a good knowledge of Arabic. Building on this, students learn to work with original language sources from different areas and epochs, and thus gain an insight into Arabic-Islamic history and culture, which is deepened using individual examples.
