Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

The Finance and Accounting BA programme combines academic knowledge with practical experience so that students graduate ready for real careers in finance, banking, and accounting. Throughout the programme, students develop applied financial skills through case studies, digital learning platforms, and hands-on assignments that mirror real business scenarios. Studying at the Faculty of Economics (GTK) in Budapest, students benefit from a modern learning environment where technology, collaborative learning, and industry exposure play an important role in the academic experience.

To support this practical learning approach, the programme integrates several opportunities and facilities that help students build professional skills and real-world understanding:

  • Compulsory professional internship: Students complete a structured internship during their studies, allowing them to gain direct experience in companies, financial institutions, or accounting organisations.

  • Project-based coursework: Students work on analytical assignments and project modules that simulate financial decision-making and business problem solving.

  • Digital learning platforms: Courses are supported by Moodle and the university’s Neptun academic system, where students access materials, submit coursework, and manage their studies.

  • Computer-based examination centre: Assessments are conducted in the GTK Exam Centre, a modern digital testing facility that reflects the technology-driven environment of the finance industry.

  • Recorded lectures and video library: Students can revisit lectures and financial concepts through recorded materials, helping them reinforce learning and prepare for exams.

  • International exchange opportunities: Students may participate in Erasmus+ mobility programmes, studying abroad at partner universities across Europe.

  • Student research opportunities: Through the Scientific Students’ Associations (TDK), motivated students can engage in research projects and academic competitions in economics and finance.

  • Modern campus facilities: The Astoria Campus of the Faculty of Economics offers contemporary classrooms, collaborative learning spaces, and academic resources designed to support international students.
