Program Overview

The special feature of the Hungarian basic course is that it is not supervised by a single institute1 but is co-supervised by two important scientific workshops. While the Hungarian Institute of Literary and Cultural Studies is responsible for teaching subjects related to Hungarian and world literature1 literary history1 literary theory1 and cultural studies1 the linguistics courses of the training are led by the staff of the Hungarian Linguistic and Finno-Ugric Institute. The most important pillars of the training are world literature1 Hungarian language and literature1 and additional linguistics classes. If you already know which area you are most interested in1 you can choose from most specializations in ELTE's Hungarian department during your specialization.
