The Institute of Oriental Studies1 which oversees the course1 is the longest continuously existing educational and research institution in the field of Oriental studies in Hungarian higher education. Education and research are supported by the library1 which includes 501000 volumes1 located partly centrally and partly at the departments. One of the main strengths of the Institute of Oriental Studies is that1 through its departments1 it is intensively involved in international scientific research both in the framework of organized cooperation and personal contact. At the same time1 our institute's international relations enable our students to participate in the language courses of individual target countries as scholarship recipients and guest students.
