Curriculum Structure
Year 1
In your first year, you’ll dive into the fundamentals of interior architecture with Interior Architecture Studio, learning how to take a concept from idea to form. Graphics will strengthen your ability to communicate ideas visually, while Technology and Materials introduces you to construction systems and essential building knowledge. Architectural History and Design Theory provides context for your creative work by exploring historical and contemporary design.
Year 2
Year two builds on these foundations with more advanced studio projects that challenge you to develop interior design solutions for complex spaces and client briefs. You’ll explore materials and detailing in greater depth, understand environmental and sustainable design principles, and refine your technical drawing and digital skills. This year focuses on broadening your design abilities and integrating creative ideas with practical building constraints.
Year 3
In your final year, you will consolidate your design identity through major projects that tackle larger, real-world challenges. You will complete a work placement, gaining practical experience, professional insight, and industry connections that prepare you for your career. Additionally, professional practice modules will guide you in preparing portfolios and presenting your work to clients and employers.

After completing this Level 7 Bachelor of Science, students may progress to the Level 8 Honours Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture at Munster Technological University, subject to academic performance. Graduates may also choose to continue their education through postgraduate study in interior architecture, architecture, design, or related built-environment disciplines in Ireland or abroad.
