Curriculum Structure
Year 1
You begin with a strong engineering foundation, studying subjects such as Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Materials Science and Computer-Aided Design. Alongside this, you’re introduced to how engineering connects to the human body, preparing you for the biomedical focus that follows.
Year 2
In second year, you move into the core of biomedical engineering with modules like Anatomy and Physiology, Biomechanics, Biomaterials and Electrical and Electronic Engineering. You learn how the body moves, how medical materials are selected, and how electronic systems are used in healthcare devices.
Year 3
In your final year, you specialise further through advanced subjects such as Medical Imaging, Rehabilitation Engineering and a Final-Year Project. This project allows you to design, analyse or improve a biomedical system, building the kind of experience employers and postgraduate programmes look for.
