It’s an ideal choice for students who enjoy science, working with people, and want a career where they can truly make a difference every day.

Curriculum Structure

Year One

In your first year, you build the foundations of professional nursing practice and begin to understand how healthcare systems work. Through modules such as Professionalism in Nursing Practice, Health and Wellbeing, Skills for Safe Practice, Principles of General Nursing Care and Caring in Context, you learn about the human body, patient care, and how nurses support people across a range of health situations. You also start developing practical skills that prepare you for supervised clinical work.

Year Two

The second year deepens your understanding of how illness and treatment affect the body and mind. You focus on more advanced nursing care, including pathophysiology, pharmacology and integrated care for people with acute and long-term conditions. Alongside this, continued clinical placements help you grow more confident in assessing patients and delivering safe, effective care.

Year Three

In third year, your learning becomes more complex and focused on professional judgement and teamwork. You explore areas such as evidence-based practice, ethics, quality and patient safety, and how healthcare teams work together. Your placements increase in responsibility, helping you apply what you learn to real clinical situations under professional supervision.

Year Four

Your final year is about bringing everything together and preparing for life as a registered nurse. You study advanced nursing topics, leadership and management in healthcare, and contemporary issues in practice. A long continuous internship allows you to work as part of a healthcare team, giving you the confidence and experience to move straight into professional nursing after graduation.
