The 1st cycle degree programme in Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences is divided into two curricula, aiming to train professional figures of Herbalist and Environmental Toxicologist. Graduates in Herbalist Techniques are able to manage the activities relating to the production, control, transformation and marketing of medicinal plants and their derivatives for public and private facilities. Graduates in Environmental Toxicology are able to work in private and public laboratories, performing biological, chemical, microbiological and toxicological control activities and risk assessments concerning the presence of toxic substances in the environment and in foodstuffs. Both graduates possess knowledge of legislation, which is useful for managing various aspects of professional activities in both national and international fields.The final examination consists in the production and discussion of a written dissertation on a topic covered in the core learning activities.
