BSN Nursing

4 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Keio University

Program Overview

Nursing education at Keio University has a long history. It traces back to 1918 when Dr. Shibasaburo Kitasato, the first dean of the School of Medicine, established a nursing education facility based on his farsighted view acknowledging the importance of "The Nurse's Role in Medical Treatment." Since then, in deference to Yukichi Fukuzawa's founding principles of "independence and self-respect," and "practical learning," nursing education was continued uninterrupted and taken on by the Women's School of Welfare, followed by the Keio Junior College of Nursing, leading up to the founding of the Faculty of Nursing and Medical Care in April 2001.
