The English Department offers courses in English language, English literature, literature in translation, visual and digital culture, and creative writing. The department also offers communication skills courses which are part of the university general education requirements. The mission of the BA program in Language is to promote a multifaceted view of language. The program provides students with a foundational understanding of the principles and issues within current approaches to language and introduces them to various aspects of the structure, use, and learning of language, with a focus on English.
