The American University of Beirut is a private university in Beirut, Lebanon. It was established in the year 1866, and it is one of the most prestigious universities in Middle East. It was ranked the number one university in the Arab region by the QS world rankings 2018.

AUB was granted institutional accreditation in June 2004 by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The University’s accreditation was reaffirmed in 2009 and again in 2016.
