There are many similarities in vocabulary between Italian and other Romanian languages - or in Latin. Of today's Romance languages, Italian is actually closest to Latin. Italy has one of the oldest and richest cultures in Europe from antiquity to our own times with an international language that is important in several areas such as art history, music, film, gastronomy, football, fashion or design.
