"In the first two years, students studying in the field of ""Oil and Gas Business"", simultaneously with general educational disciplines, begin to get acquainted with their future profession, studying such subjects as: ""History of the development of the oil and gas industry"", ""Fundamentals of oil and gas business"", ""Chemistry of oil and gas"" and ""Physics of the Reservoir"". The first summer training practice takes place at the training ground of the Mining University in the village. Ulyanovka (40 km from St. Petersburg). In this practice, students get acquainted with the design of drilling rigs and try to independently perform technological operations when drilling wells. "
