This programme offers an integrative approach to the study of history, including analysis not only of historical facts and processes, but also of human experiences and cultural transformation. It combines traditional historical disciplines with new comparative, interdisciplinary, and practical courses,including the study of the auxiliary sciences of history, as well as ancient and modern languages. By exploring the lives of individuals, communities, and nations in the past, students gain an understanding of historical processes and learn how societies function throughout history and in the present.

This programme trains specialists, who are not only able to carry out archival work, but also engage in serious analytics and take part in interdisciplinary research projects in various languages. The guiding focus of the programme is to systematically develop such fields as global, comparative, and transnational history so that these subjects can serve as a potent tool for overcoming the limitations of the established canon of national history, as well as foster an interdisciplinary dialogue in the social sciences and the humanities.

This programme trains specialists to work in government positions, in centres for research, analysis and consulting, and in museums and archives. Students obtain the knowledge and skills necessary in the search for and analysis of artefacts and in historical reconstructions, as well as in solving unanswered historical questions, modelling historical processes, historical and cultural design and the preservation of historical heritage.
