The Department of Korean Language and Literature comprises Korean language and Korean literature, which are the foundation for all academic studies or researches related to Korea and Korean people.The Korean language curriculum deals with Korean speech and writing, and includes some fields such as modern grammar, ancient grammar and history of the Korean language. The Korean literature curriculum consists of Korean poetry, novels, essays, dramas, and literary criticism.
