Yeungnam University History

Yeungnam University is a private research university, in North Gyeongsang, South Korea. The two colleges merged by President Park Chung-hee to form the degree-granting Yeungnam University in 1967. The first Chairperson of the Board of Trustees Mr. Lee, Dong Nyoung inaugurated The University. The university's new main campus opened in Gyeongsan east of Daegu in 1972.

Yeungnam University has 13 Colleges, 6 schools, 40 Research Institutes, and 4 Research programs. There are also 11 auxiliary organizations, which includes the Center for International Programs, the Foreign Language Institute.

Yeungnam University Campuses

Yeungnam University has two campuses; Gyeongsan is the main campus and Daegu campus. It is situated in the city of Gyeongsan in the south-eastern part of the Korean Peninsula, the city is adjacent to the Daegu metropolis, which is the third largest city in Korea, and it takes one and a half hours from Capital of Korea, Seoul by train, and one hour from Busan, which is the 2nd largest city in Korea.

Yeungnam University Achievements and USP

Yeungnam University was selected as a "Government-Sponsored Program for Science Education" of basic science and laboratory education and chosen as the supervising university for the model Technopark Project In 1997. In the following year, Yeungnam University was selected as a Supervising University in Machinery field and also as an Attending University in Information Technology.
