The Department of Dental Hygiene aims to educate students to become competent dental hygienists who have both leadership and professionalism as demanded by society by educating them in theories and methods to improve the dental hygiene of people, systematically and scientifically.Students who enroll in the Department will gain a competitive edge through field training at the dental division of Gachon University Gil Hospital, in compliance with field-oriented clinical practice protocol.Students are also encouraged to grow their competency autonomously and proactively through diverse dental hygiene-related service activities in collaboration with various local groups and institutions, while building qualifications to thrive in a professional career and improving academic performance through a one-on-one mentoring program.A master's degree major course in dental hygiene was first offered in 2009 at the Graduate School of Public Health and has been producing competent dental hygienists who have both the information processing capability and professionalism as demanded by the dental hygiene industry, thereby promising a future where the major course program will secure its status as the essential program for the development of the dental hygiene industry.
